Editorial policy

How we research, write, and correct our guides.

A short, plain-language statement of our editorial standards. We've kept this practical rather than aspirational — everything here reflects how we actually work.

In short: Articles are written and reviewed by named members of our editorial team. We test what we can and cite manufacturer documentation when we can't. We accept no sponsored content, no affiliate placements, and no ghostwritten manufacturer copy. We correct errors openly when readers point them out.

1. Who writes our content

Every article on PrintSmart.pro is written by a member of our editorial team, listed on our team page. We do not use generative AI to produce article copy. We do not accept ghostwritten articles from manufacturers, PR agencies, or marketing firms. We may occasionally work with named freelance writers; when we do, the byline reflects who actually wrote the piece.

2. How we research

Our guides fall into two categories based on how they're sourced:

  • Hands-on guides. When we have access to the relevant printer or software, we test the steps we describe. If we say "press this menu option," we've actually pressed it.
  • Research-based guides. When we don't have hands-on access, we rely on the manufacturer's official documentation, support articles, and user guides. We say so at the top of the article and link to the documentation we used in the "Sources" section at the bottom.

We do not source troubleshooting steps from unverified forum posts, social media, or other publications without independent verification.

3. Brand coverage

We aim to cover the major consumer and small-office printer brands — HP, Canon, Epson, Brother — with rough parity over time, in addition to brand-agnostic content that applies regardless of manufacturer. We are not paid by, partnered with, or affiliated with any of these companies. References to brands and products are for identification and editorial purposes only.

4. What we don't publish

To stay focused on practical, neutral information, we don't publish:

  • Specific product recommendations or "best of" rankings.
  • Comparison verdicts that name a "winner" between specific models.
  • Sponsored articles, paid placements, or "brought to you by" content.
  • Articles built around affiliate-link opportunities.
  • AI-generated content.

5. Disclosure and conflicts of interest

PrintSmart.pro currently has no affiliate relationships, no sponsorships, and no paid partnerships of any kind. If this changes in the future, we will disclose the relationship on the About page and on every article where it applies, in a clearly visible block at the top of the article.

If a printer or accessory is provided to us for free for the purpose of testing, we will say so in any article that draws on that testing. We do not commit to a positive review or any particular framing in exchange for review units, and we reserve the right to decline to cover anything sent to us.

6. Updates and revisions

Software updates, driver releases, and operating-system changes can make printer instructions go out of date. Each article shows a "last updated" date. When we substantially revise an article, we update that date and, where the change is material, add a short note at the top describing what changed.

7. Corrections

If you spot a factual error, an outdated step, or a broken link, please email Start@printsmart.pro with the article URL and a description of the problem. We aim to review correction requests within five business days. Corrected articles get a brief correction note at the bottom.

8. Reader privacy and contact

We do not share or sell reader information. See our Privacy Policy for details on what data the site collects.

We cannot provide individualized printer support over email. If your problem isn't resolved by our published guides, please contact the manufacturer of your device directly through their official support channels, or consult a qualified local repair technician.
